Dylan Mingo underwent a growth spurt in the last year, growing from 6’3 to 6’5, which makes him one of the most intriguing guards in the 2026 recruiting class (2027 Draft class).
As the Draft has come and gone, I am back to one of my favorite parts of scouting: grassroots and scouting the distant future. I went to Session One of EYBL in Memphis in April, and got to see several players, but the amount of action doesn’t allow for you to see everyone in one sitting, which is why going to multiple sessions or extensively studying film matters so much in these settings. The Mingo’s were some of my key players I watched in Memphis, and wanted to revisit that deep dive once the Draft completed.
Some background on Dylan Mingo: He is the younger brother of Kayden Mingo, a top 50 recruit in 2025, and both of them play for Long Island Lutheran High School (LuHi), which has many other top prospects such as VJ Edgecombe (who just graduated), Kiyan Anthony, and others. Dylan recently underwent a growth spurt and is considered a consensus top 25 prospect among rising juniors in the 2026 recruiting class, and plays for the PSA Cardinals 16Us. Dylan was named to the Nike Elite 100 which is essentially an all star circuit for the top players in EYBL among the 15s, 16s, and 17s before Peach Jam.
